SINGAPORE: Former actor Ng Aik Leong, better known as Huang Yiliang, was charged in court on Wednesday (Sep 11) with driving a van into a cyclist.
The cyclist, 27-year-old Bhatt Paras Krishna, was grievously hurt as a result.
Ng, a 63-year-old Singapore, was handed one count under the Road Traffic Act of driving without reasonable consideration for other road users.
According to the charge sheet, he was driving a van along the slip road of Cavenagh Road onto Bukit Timah Road, towards Serangoon Road, at about 8.20pm on Sep 20 last year.
He allegedly failed to exercise care when driving out from the slip road and collided with the cyclist.

Ng was given a date to plead guilty on Nov 15 and was offered bail of S$10,000 (US$7,600).
If convicted, he faces a jail term of up to two years, a fine of up to S$5,000, or both.
